Many, many years ago
Linology is something I made up many years ago. It was supposed to be a combination of the word Linux and technology.
Many, many years ago, I developed a passion for Linux—just a love of Linux and open source software.
The conundrum
My instincts have always started with architecture: infrastructure, operating models, reproducible processes, dependencies, and the patterns that make systems reliable.
I understand what it takes to build and run powerful production environments. I can reason through structure, interfaces, failure modes, and the path from an idea to something another team can operate.
Code is part of that work, but it has never been the part that motivates me most. I care about what the system does, how it fails, and whether someone else can pick it up and run it.
The unlock
For someone with decades of experience in production environments, AI has shortened the distance between an idea and a working implementation.
It lets me prototype and explore without pretending implementation no longer matters. The design, validation, and operating judgment still belong to the person steering the work.
What comes next
With the introduction of AI, I now have the opportunity to bring to life all sorts of strange creations and ideas that would have never been possible before.
This is where the projects, experiments, screenshots, and everything else I’m up to will live.
Linology is for practical AI, open source, and people who like building strange, useful things.
